Profit Sharing
With New Product Licensing Coop
Innovation Institute
Just One Good New Product’s
License
Can Provide Shared Income Up to 20
years.
Over
View:
Share a percent of royalties from future licensing with fellow Associates from
the cooperative. Associates are those parties with written contracts, working on
the new product development, or licensing. We are one of the main Associates.
In
General:
-
Each Associate earns a share in the prospective profit sharing from each new
product they work on.
-
Profit sharing allocations are based on: Value of Associate’s skill sets;
amount of work needed for the new product project.
-
Per the written agreement, when one Associate makes money on the new product,
the others with a share in the patent rights should as well.
-
Chances of earning profits are higher, by working on a greater number of new
products. Just one new product needs to be successful.
-
See the contract for details.
Additional Income Possibilities:
-
In the background, Associates need a stable income to pay their bills,
perhaps from a less than interesting job or business. With basic bills
covered, Associates gain the freedom to focus on making a big windfall, so
they may not have to worry again about some daily job.
-
Keep 100% of what manufacturers pay for your services. A licensee for one of
the new products worked on, might seek to hire the services of the Associates
already with a leg up on the new product. Associates could be asked to fill in
whatever gaps need filling before it gets to market, e.g. market research,
engineering, etc. Let them know you’re motivated by the pre-existing profit
sharing agreement you might have with us.
-
Licensees often pay royalties over time, with or without an upfront payment.
Sometimes a licensee or another Associate can hope to buy out the shares of
those Associates interested in selling. Some Associates can sell their
shares, while others may retain them hoping for a greater valuation in future.
Quarterly Payments:
-
The licensee (manufacturer or investor) should
normally write royalty checks once quarterly.
-
Our deductions are taken out for legal, marketing and related costs. To avoid
any misunderstandings, certain cost like share of office space, phones and
other utility, certain travel, etc are probably not deducted (see agreement).
-
Profit sharing checks from new product licenses in US currency can be sent to
you in the San Francisco Bay Area, or anywhere in the world.
-
Remaining profits go towards helping charities. This includes helping
artists, and highly educated engineers living overseas, who need help getting
into the richer world’s high tech market.
